Still impetus mate.
Which armies do you have Andy?

Impetus was the reason I was looking at using 2*60mm based so that fully compatible.

Hi. Does anyone at the club still do 28mm Ancients?
I don't mean skirmish games like Saga & Lion Rampant.

I know a few people used to play Hail Caesar and then Impetus?
Does that mean that all armies at club are based consistent with Impetus big 120mm wide bases?
E.g. 6 figures wide on old 20 mm square bases.

I wanted to get back to an aborted project based on Victrix Greeks and am trying to plan out the best use of the few boxes I have already before buying anything new. Contemplating using WRG basing with 2*60mm wide bases matching up with Impetus, and either 2 or 3 such bases for Hail Caesar.

Hi. Belated reply as not used forums for a while and then Andy posted new link on FB Group.
I have played Blucher a couple of times and enjoyed it.
I like the idea of quick campaign system pre battle to determine which sector for unis set up / reinforcements.

I have main rulebook and 100 Days cards. i pan on getting Peninsular War and Central European cards next time I place an order with Northstar.

Found this while browsing a painting forum, thought it may come in handy for anyone looking to switch range.

Thanks Matt

I liked B5 ACTA and wanted to give Victory at Sea a try.
But put off when Mongoose cut and run by ceasing all miniature games.

If Warlord had picked it up then that might have been interesting.

I'm hoping to be well enough to make Fiasco

What 28mm ancient Greeks do you have?
Have you got any photos?

Sorry folks been busy with work recently. I will get a full report completed over the next few days but James as summarised the out very well.

In short we are good, we are strong, we are growing in size.

Next thing to be seen as best/biggest club in Leeds
Excellent. Nice one.

I would rather put my meagre business your way Alan than through some faceless Online Store.
I would definitely be after one blister of each of Armada Imperial and Rebel Fighters.

Thanks Matt.

So you don't keep it pre-mixed?
Just mix it up as you use it?

Modelling, Painting & Artwork / Mixing brown paint and PVA Glue
« on: July 05, 2015, 11:00:45 AM »

Has anyone had any experience mixing brown paint and PVA Glue?

I am looking to base a whole load of 28mm Napoleonics.
Have just over 200 figures with 6 figures on each magnetic MDF bases.
Have already glued the figures onto MDF bases.
Ready now to apply PVA glue and then sand.

When painting single figures I would apply PVA glue, add sand, wait to dry, cover with Calthan Brown Foundation paint, wait to dry, drybrush up to desired earth colour.
The difference this time is the number of figures I need to do and the fact that 6 figures on a base so harder to paint over PVA glue without getting paint on figures (not impossible but harder).

Bought the Army Painter Brown Battleground Basing via Alan.
This contains couple of different sized gravel already coloured.
If I can add brown paint to PVA glue then that will avoid the need for painting over.
Can then just do 1-2 quick drybrushing before adding flock/static grass.

Has anyone mixed paint and PVA glue before?
Any suggestions on right mix of two, container, method of applying etc??

Thanks very much
