I found out why Cal's new Inferno ammo was so powerful; we were looking at the wrong page. It applies the Fire condition on pg260; less instant damage, more running around screaming. Grin

Hi guys

Just a thought for next time, before we head back to the ship I think we should grab the inquisitor and bring him along. He may be insane but he's not possesed so there's a possibility we can bring him round. Even if not I'm sure the Inquisition would be grateful for the return of him in any state and if we do bring him back to his senses a friend in the Iquisition is always a good thing!

Any thoughts?

The Inquisition is always a bit incalculable, but some contacts in high places would be very useful if it works out. Contacting them might take a while; there must be a conclave fortress of some sort on Scintilla, but I don't know if there's a 'contact address' any closer than that.

The other issue is the standoff about the Admiral and his brother; I'm inclined to just leave them to it and run for our ship. We've got bigger xenos to bombard, and I think it unlikely the envoy will survive after (if?) the Whisperer is destroyed anyway.

It's odd how although I play in the game I can't make much in the way of suggestions on what to do  Grin

Although I do think the party needs to start paying more attention to its Captain, he could have you flogged and swabbing the deck before you know it...

id like to see him try it with us (the case of being shot and experimented on or mindflayed or lit on fire by a psycho priest seem to be a good chunk of options to how that sort of action would go down)

hmm i agree we should take the inquisitor, and if we can make the exit first we can seal our traitorous little admiral in the command station via the extra hueg blast doors (id love to see him open those up once i encrypt the locking system. then we can get back to the ship,  take on the huge crystal... thing and deal with our traitor with cromwell and a cup of tea

on a side note ash, how are we going to work out aquiring new ships over the campaign? after all our ship is good for combat and has some cargo bays, but id like to look into getting an actual transport vessal (or two) at some point, and also increasing the military aspect of our flotilla are we gunna have to scavenge or can we work with more legit means? or maybe even both, cripple some pirates and steal thier wessals seems like a good way of getting raiders or frigates and legitimately getting transport ships from shipyards, or even becoming pirates ourselves and stealing a transport or two from somewhere (making sure its not engaged with imperial business first as it wont help if we get labelled traitors)

I think we could do with a bit more discipline in the crew, especially in the current situation. If the captain puts his foot down, I'll fall in line.

I think we could make use of some more ships, but I'd be thinking more of building a trade empire than a flotilla. I think we're more likely to capture raiders and transports than proper warships, and we could put those to better use by delegating trade and escort duties to them, freeing up the Malleus (and any frigate we're able to capture or repair) for more important or high-risk endevours.

If we secure the Svard system, we'll need to broker trade deals and open a supply route for the system; we could do with a transport ship or two to make regular runs without tying up the Malleus. Likewise, Svard will need some system defence ships to protect it in our absence. Could the 4 abandoned system ships around the refinary station be recovered and refitted for these roles?

Wow, Alex has pretty much come up with *exactly* what I was thinking of when it came to just what you need to do in the Svard system, good going mate Smiley

I'll do it all with Endeavors I think; good plot hooks, adventures with achievable goals, and good reasons to dole out xp from my point of view.

a fine plan there

oh and whats the stance on running more than one character? a total nono or are we able to run an extra using one while the other is tied up elsewhere on the ship with thier duties?

I feel a bit against using more than one character, generally if your character isnt doing something then its going to be done by your teams of mooks that you can send; you can take some tests for the mooks to see how they perform on their own, but the results wont be the same as if you had gone yourself (if you want a job done right and all that...)

but then what sort of thing were you talking about?
